Two times World Champions Argentina knocked out by France. Brazil kept a clean sheet victory over Mexico. The wonder generation of Croatia continued their class. But it was Belgium vs Japan that was probably the best game of the tournament so far.

With a 4-3 win against Argentina, France qualified for yet another quarterfinal of FIFA World Cup. This is the consecutive appearance of Les Blues in this round. Last time, they were eliminated by Germany who later won the title. Let’s see how far they can go this time.
Uruguay conceded their first ever game of the tournament against Portugal. Despite that, they still booked a place in the last 8. Edinson Cavani’s 2 goals put them right in front against one of the tournament favourites.
For the first time after breakup from Soviet Union, Russia qualified for the round of 16 and advanced ever further. Russia defended great against Spain and forced them to play penalties. Spain missed two penalties and Russia proceeded further.
Within first 4 minutes, one goal from each side scored by Croatia and Denmark. But they game still went to penalties and Croatia got the desired results.
Brazil qualified for yet another Quarterfinal of FIFA World Cup. Thanks to goals from Neymar and Firmino whose goals are responsible for Mexico’s elimination from the competition.
Belgium came from 2 goals behind against Japan after conceding 2 goals in the Round of 16. But the red devils showed what they are capable of. Scoring three goals after conceding two is not everyone’s cup of tea. A winning goal in last minute of injury time put Belgium in the Quarterfinal.
