Bad news for the fans of Argentina as their key goalkeeper Sergio Romero has been ruled out of the squad after picking up a serious injury. A few days ago, Argentina announced their team squad but need to replace him with a goalkeeper. It is now officially revealed by Argentina Football Association that he’ll not fly to Russia where Argentina will play in the finals. He had an amazing role behind Argentina’s final appearance in the last edition.
Sergio Romero Ruled Out of FIFA World Cup
The Manchester United goalkeeper returned to training with national teammates but unfortunately suffered a serious injury in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. He is the most capped goalkeeper in the history of Argentina. The AFA said
Romero will be removed from the list of 23 players who will participate in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He had suffered a blockage in his right knee and was being evaluated surgically. A replacement will be announced in the coming days.
Romero was pictured alongside Caballero and Lucas Biglia during a workout in Lucas in Ezeiza. After a few minutes, he got injured and left the pitch. Looks like Sampaoli again need to scan his team squad to announce the new player who can take place of Sergio Romero.
