Cristiano Ronaldo demanded Guard of Honour from Barcelona after conquering FIFA Club World Cup title last week. But Barcelona refuses to do so and Real Madrid will not receive Guard of Honour. On Saturday, Real Madrid won their third FIFA Club World Cup title in Abu Dhabi after 1-0 win against Brazilian club Gremio.
How it all started?
Real Madrid won their fifth title of 2017 in the form of FIFA Club World Cup. Real Madrid’s winger Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal of the final match that was enough to conquer title.
Thereafter, Cristiano Ronaldo demanded Guard of Honour from Barcelona stating “It would be nice and I would like Barcelona to make for us the Guard of Honour.”
Guillermo Amor, the director of Camp Nou replied to Ronaldo’s demand stating “We make it clear that we only do this when we participate in the competition.”
“When we compete in the competition, we will do it but that is not the case. That’s the way it is.” According to Amor’s statement, Barcelona’s didn’t competed in FIFA Club World Cup. So, they’ll not give Guard of Honour to Real Madrid. In short, Barcelona will not give Real Madrid what Ronaldo demanded.

FC Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde also responded to this concern suggested it was unlikely his players would be giving a guard of honour this weekend. The manager said “I haven’t even paid it a though.”
Both teams will play their next game against each other on 23 December 2017 in most awaited El Clasico. Real Madrid are 11 points behind the league leaders Barcelona and have one game in hand. Barca have not lost any game so far in the competition, while Real Madrid have lost 2 games already.
