Confirmed: England 23 Man Team Squad For 2018 FIFA World Cup

Gareth Southgate, the head coach of England National Football team announced the 23 Man team squad of England for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Joe Hart and Jack Wilshere ruled out of the squad. 19 years old Trent Alexander-Arnold got the call along with experienced Ashley Young. England’s official Twitter account tweeted the announced of the squad for the tournament scheduled to be held in Russia this year.

Former Man City and current West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart will be missing the competition along with Wilshere. The friendlies are not started yet and England has announced the squad after Brazil team squad confirmation. Gary Cahill, Fabian Delph will be flying to Russia with the squad for the biggest competition. Danny Rose and Ryan Bertrand are also listed for the squad. Harry Kane will lead the team as a captain. Leicester City’s start forward Jamie Vardy and Marcus Rashford will also join them.

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Gary Cahill, Fabian Delph, Phil Jones, Harry Maguire, Danny Rose, John Stones, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Ashley Young

Midfielders: Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Forwards: Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling, Jamie Vardy, Danny Welbeck.

James Tarkowski, Jake Livermore, Adam Lallana, Tom Heaton and Lewis Cook are on standby.

After a disappointing run in FIFA World Cup 2018 and Euro 2016, Gareth Southgate took charge as head coach of England team in September 2016. Under his management, England qualified for the finals of World Cup without losing any game in the qualifiers.

England has been drawn with Belgium, Panama, and Tunisia in Group G of FIFA World Cup 2018. The Three Lions are the only World Cup Winners in this group. There is a debut team in this group also which is Panama. This confirmed squad is expected to play friendly warm-up matches against Nigeria on 2nd June and against Costa Rica on 7th June 2018.
