Eden Hazard Childhood
He was born in La Louviere, a state in Belgium where he took birth in a football family. Mother Carine Hazard and father Thierry Hazard were both footballers from whom Eden learnt the basics of football. His mother was professional forward in the Belgian Women’s first Division. Carine stopped playing when she was 3 months pregnant with Eden. His father was defensive midfielder in the Belgian second division.
Eden’s whole family is known for playing football. He has three brothers and he is the eldest of four children. His younger brothers are Thorgan, Kylian and Ethan. He played with Thorgan Hazard at Chelsea in 2012 and 2018 FIFA World Cup but later Thorgan moved to Borussia Monchengladbach. Kylian signed for White Star Bruxelles in 2013 and Ethan remains playing in the youth academy of Eden’s former club Tubize. Eden Hazard Club Career
He began his youth career at Royal Stade Brainois for which he played from 1995 to 2003. The player impressed lots of coaches and players for his style of play. One of the coaches said Hazard is a “gifted player. He knew everything. I had nothing to teach him.” After having unforgettable career at this club, he moved to Tubize.
Hazard impressed some of the Lille scout when he was playing in a local tournament. The scout report on the player prompted club officials to meet with Hazard’s father and offer him a youth contract. On 28 May 2007, Eden singed a three years deal with Lille and that was his first ever professional contract. When he was 16 years old, he was promoted to Lille’s reserve team in the Championnat de France amateur. He made his first start in a 1-0 defeat to Lesquin.
Due to majority of players being on international duty. Hazard was called for the senior team by Lille’s manager Claude Puel for a friendly match against Bruges, a Belgian club. He assisted his team to finish in 5th place, which was first among professional clubs’ reserve teams playing in the group. It was enough for the senior club coach to promote him to senior team.
Rudi Garcia, club manager promoted him permanently to the senior team. On 14 September 2008, he made the senior debut for a professional club in a 1-1 draw against Sochaux. While playing for Lille, Hazard scored 36 goals in 147 appearances from 2007-2012.
It was the time, when some of the top professional clubs eager to sign him and Chelsea was the most interested club. After winning the Champions League, Chelsea confirmed that they have agreed deals with Lille to bring the Belgian at the Stamford Bridge. On Twitter, Hazard stated that “I’m delighted to finally arrive here. It’s a wonderful club and I can’t wait to get started.”

Eden Hazard International Career
He played for Belgium U15, U16, U17 and U19 teams form 2006 to 2009 before moving to the senior team in 2008. He scored at least one goal in every Belgium team for which he played.
The winger got international call from team head coach Rene Vandereycken on 18th November 2018 for a match against Luxembourg. He spent 7 years in France and was eligible to play for the French team. Before making his national debut with France, he was courted by FFF [French Football Federation] officials who sought the player to play for the France national team as he had become eligible for French citizenship. He did not respond to the courtship and later stated “Because of my presence in France for seven years, I feel 99% Belgian and 1% French, but the idea of French citizenship has never crossed my mind.”

Natacha Van Honacker is the life partner of Eden Hazard. He fell in love with Natacha when he was just 14 years-old and both were in the same school. Eden married his longtime girlfriend in a private ceremony. Eden and Natacha started to live together in Lille. The couple have three sons Yannis, Leo and Samy.
