Fernando Hierro is appointed as a new coach of Spain Football team who will guide Spain in the FIFA World Cup 2018. The decision is made after sacking Julen Lopetegui by RFEF. Hierro was the assistant manager of Real Madrid during the 2014-15 season and has played more than 400 games for Real Madrid.

Hierro will take charge of Spain head coach during the FIFA World Cup. He will hold a news conference in the evening in Krasnodar, Russia. He will then take charge of his first training session ahead of Spain’s World Cup opening game against Portugal on Friday.
The former Real Madrid defender who held the role of sporting director has stepped in following Lopetegui’s unexpected departure following his appointment as Madrid coach on Tuesday.
A statement from the Spanish Football Federation read “Fernando Hierro will assume the position of National Coach in the World Championship of Russia and will appear before the media accompanied by the president RFEF, Luis Rubiales”.
Team Captain Sergio Ramos has issued a rallying cry on his twitter account to his Spanish teammates saying: “We represent the badge, the colors, the fans, the country.”
