The competition is beginning on 12th December 2018. Seven teams from six confederations qualified for the competition. Total 8 matches will be played including a match for fifth and third place. UEFA Champions League 2017-18 Winners Real Madrid are the defending Champions of FIFA Club World Cup. Brazil and Japan were the two nations who showed interest in hosting the tournament but UAE got the opportunity to host it. Final will be played on 22 December 2018.

The second round of the competition will be played between ED Tunis vs winner of Match 1. River Plate will face Al Ain in the Semi-Final and Real Madrid will face Kashima Antlers in the same round.
