Official: Thibaut Courtois Is Now A Real Madrid Goalkeeper

After so many rumors of the Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, it’s now official that he has joined Real Madrid. Chelsea have agreed deal with Real Madrid with Mateo Kovacic who will join Chelsea on loan. Chelsea is likely to sign the Athletic Bilbao’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has cost a world record fee of £71.6 million.

Real Madrid will present Courtois on Thursday

The European Champions will present their new goalkeeper on Thursday at their home ground Santiago Bernabeu. Thibaut Courtois have signed a 6 year deal with the Spanish capital club.

Courtois joined Chelsea in 2011 and immediately loaned to Atletico Madrid where he got the World’s attention. He returned to Chelsea in 2014 and won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one Football League Cup. He was the best goalkeeper of 2018 FIFA World Cup and received the Golden Glove award.

Thibaut Courtois also mentioned on Twitter with just a word “HalaMadrid”, confirming he is now a Real Madrid player.

Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic will arrive sign for Chelsea on loan. The Croatian has played 3 seasons at Real Madrid and was the member of national team during Croatia’s historic run at the Russia World Cup.

Real Madrid will play the UEFA Super Cup final on 16 Aug 2018 [Indian date] against city rivals Atletico Madrid. The new goalkeeper is expected to make debut for the Madrid club on the same day.

The departure of Thibaut Courtois brought Kepa Arrizabalaga as the main number 1 for Chelsea. He is now in line to play the first Chelsea game on Saturday at the Huddersfield.
