Luka Modric, the name whole World is talking about. The Croatian midfielder maestro is today’s trending Footballer in the biggest sporting event of this planet. His video clip in which he has shown as shepherd has gone viral. Pavle Balenovic who accidentally captured Luka Modric while filming a wildlife documentary and later realized that he kid none other than Croatia Football team captain Luka Modric.

Pavle didn’t have the intentions to shoot that kid as he was creating the wildlife documentary. According to Pavle Balenovic
“The Modric family, they used to be quite decent, nice people. I visited them whenever I went filming the wildlife in the mountains. So I took the shots of my friend and his son collecting their herd of goats, closing the pen and some scenes directed as It was planned for editing a wolf documentary.”
“It was back in 1990 just a while before the war destroyed their home. The war changed everything and I haven’t seen anymore. They moved away. Then just a few years ago I got some information on who the small boy collecting his father’s herd in my episode is. That boy became a famous Croatian soccer player – Luka Modric”
“He hasn’t seen these shots (taken back in 1989-1990) because this is the first time they are published. After the war, a lot of mines were left what destroyed the image of whole the mountain area. Today the area changed even more. The construction of the new highway lasted a few years what ruined the peace the local wildlife needed to live in”
Luka Modric has played 112 games so far for the Croatia National Football team. He was also part of the Croatia U15, U17, U18, U19, and U21 team before making debut at senior level.
The Untold Story of Luka Modric
The 32 years old have seen lots of ups and downs throughout his journey. Some coaches said he was too week and too shy to play Football and some clubs refused to sign him.
In 2003, he was loaned in 2003 to Zrinjski Mostar in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina where he established his versatile style of play. He became Bosnian and Herzegovinian League player of the year when he was 18. He said “Someone who can play in the Bosnian league can play anywhere.”
